Exercising is one of the best things to do in spare time because after all, there are so many well-documented benefits to regular physical activity. Still, it’s essential to choose the right type of workout, so you’ll be able to feel comfortable and productive every time you decide to exercise. Not all people are suited for running or yoga, therefore, before you decide to settle, be sure to try various activities. Aside from exercising, it’s important to say that there are multiple supplements that can enhance your performance without harming your health. One of them is CBD, a hemp-derived oil that has been quite popular lately. In this text, we’ll try to separate fact from fiction regarding the CBD and exercising.

Fiction: CBD oil is just a fad and a drug that can get you high

Even though CBD oil seems to be everywhere, only time will tell whether it’s just a fad or not. Currently, there is more and more evidence that it can help those who suffer from many physical and mental issues.

Now when it comes to getting high, it’s understandable why many believe this: CBD is derived from marijuana, hence all the confusion. However, it’s essential to point out that CBD isn’t the same as THC because the latter is what gets one high while consuming marijuana, therefore, CBD is safe for consumption, as it won’t alter your consciousness the same way as smoking or eating edibles.

Fact: CBD can help with anxiety and sore muscles

The main reason why CBD is getting so well-known is because it’s claimed that it can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. But aside from that, it is also great for alleviating pain and reducing post-workout muscle soreness, mainly due to its anti-inflammatory effects. But, before starting to use it, it’s recommended to talk to your physician or mental health counselor, especially if you’ve been dealing with any health issues lately.

Fiction: Using CBD means no need to recover after exercise

Using CBD doesn’t mean you don’t need to be cautious. On the contrary, it’s super important to say that you should always allow your body to rest after exercising, whether you use CBD or not. Since workouts break down muscle fibres, only proper recovery and rest can rebuild them again and improve their strength. Also, before you start using CBD and exercising, you should aim to get informed and reading health and fitness books can be of great help, especially if you’re inexperienced or plan to return to exercise after a long break.

Fact: You can improve your endurance with CBD

This is generally true, although this claim needs more research. Still, this study found that using CBD can increase endorphins during the exercise, which can lead to better performance and higher levels of endurance. Also, it found that it’s impossible to achieve a runner’s high without a well-balanced endocannabinoid system.

Fiction: All CBD is the pretty much the same

Considering that CBD is still unregulated, sometimes it’s impossible to know what you’re going to get. Not all oils that are labelled “CBD” actually contain CBD, which is why it’s essential to do your own research before making a purchase. Find a trustworthy manufacturer, and always be sure to check where it’s been grown and prepared. There are various dosages on the market, so make sure to check the levels, so you won’t end up getting too little or too much of CBD and/or THC. It might take you some time to find your perfect CBD oil, hence, it’s important to carefully check all the available options in your area.

Conclusion

Using CBD oil as an exercise aid can be of tremendous help, however, make sure to consult your doctor or personal trainer before you decide to incorporate it to your regular workout or daily routine. Also, start with smaller doses until you get accustomed to the positive effects of this hugely beneficial oil.
