- Standard measurements of a tincture bottle
- 1 tincture bottle = 30 mL (30 full droppers). Note – tincture bottles can also come in 15mL and 60mL sizes as well.
- 1 full dropper = 30 to 40 drops. Note – the drops in a full dropper can vary by bottle. It’s best to measure from the full dropper amount.
- Potency – CBD potency can vary from 50mg to 5,000mg. This can be found on the tincture bottle and will be measured in mg (milligrams).
- Find the potency per dropper with the following formula
- [Total Potency in mg / Total mL in Tincture bottle] = Number of mg per full dropper
- Example: A standard tincture bottle (30 mL) with a potency of 1000mg would be:
- 1000mg / 30 mL = 33.3 mg per full dropper
- Find the potency estimate per drop. Remember the drops per full dropper can vary from 30 to 40 drops. In this example we’ll use the average of 35 drops.
[mg per full dropper / 35 drops] = 0.95 mg per drop.
